The Easter Sermon Series

The sermon is an integral part of the Sunday service.

Thanks to the gift of audio recording, we can listen again. The second time around, we may hear something we didn't the first. And reviewing several sermons together, we may discover connections we otherwise would have missed. God bless the hearing of His Word!

What did we hear?

In the 2009 Easter season, Pastor McGuire planted several seeds. Christ told us that He would rise and sit at the right hand of God. He is physically alive and very real. As humans we choose to listen, but we cannot choose Christ without the Gospel. Living for and with Christ is a continual daily walk and sacrifice.  Praise be to God.

Sermons available in audio and written format:

Easter Sermon 1 - April 12, 2009:
Jesus earned salvation for us through the humility of the cross.  The resurrection is merely the "I told you so!" of the Gospel message.

Easter Sermon 2 - April 19, 2009 (Pastor Baidaoui):
Christ doesn't just speak His forgiveness, He touches us with it.

Easter Sermon 3 - April 26, 2009:
Jesus isn't dead any more. And He has a real, physical body.

Easter Sermon 4 - May 3, 2009:
Our ability to choose makes us humans unique.  What do we choose? What did Jesus choose?

Easter Sermon 5 - May 10, 2009:
No one can come to Christ without the Gospel; no one can continue in Christ without the Gospel.

Easter Sermon 6 - May 17, 2009:
Love is sacrifice, and our ability to love comes from Him who gave Himself unto death for our sins.

What are sermons?

Sermons are God’s Word applied to today. It is the Gospel planted in individual hearts. The preacher delivers it as a representative of Christ. No matter what the sermon text or topic, the idea is always this: God, through the messenger, is speaking to us right now. The sermon is a way that the Holy Spirit confronts and warns us (Law), and offers us salvation and delivers eternal life (Gospel).
